Geri is a founding partner of Cohen Villegas Patel, PLLC. Born in Salzburg, Austria, Mrs. Cohen spent her childhood traveling through Europe and speaks many languages, including French, German, Italian, and Hebrew.
Geri obtained her Juris Doctorate in 2006 at The University of Baltimore School of Law, with a concentration in family law. Mrs. Cohen was a Family Law Clinic Fellow, wrote the bench book on drug addiction in Family Law Baltimore City Courts, lead truancy Court in Baltimore City, and spent most of her practice time as a child advocate and Court Appointed Guardian Ad litem.
Following her husband for his flight surgery tour with the United States Air Force to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Geri became a CASA for the county. After Dr. Cohen’s surgery tour, he completed his residency program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before the family settled in Dallas, Texas.
Geri met her future law partners while studying for the Texas Bar Exam in Fort Worth, Texas in 2011. “Because we came from different states and knew no one at this local law school, we sat next to each other on day 1 of that review course. That chance meeting was the start of our future law firm.”
Geri is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
